AMERICAN STANDARDS FROM THE 1930s / 40s

filtered in a perfumed potion of Pop, Latin, Jazz and Classical

for an esoteric and glamorous suspense experience.

Jazz often feeds on instrumental pieces or songs from other musical repertoires. Thus Jacques Loussier is famous for his interpretations of the music of Bach, Thierry Eliez with « 3 around the 4 » pays a beautiful tribute to the Beatles, the singer Paul Anka makes pop swing with « Rock Swings », not to mention Miles Davis with Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper. Many jazzmen on the planet do the same.

Rose Franck proposes the opposite journey, propelling great jazz classics towards other musical horizons.

With pop accents, more ethnic rhythms and harmonies inspired by early 20th century classical music, Franck creates a velvet frame around Rosa’s sensual and strong voice, rich in her Latin American culture, giving those magnificent timeless songs a new aesthetic.

BIO

Franck Monbaylet is a pianist, composer and arranger known for creating bridges between musical styles. Whether for french variety (Véronique Sanson, Serge Lama, Yves Duteil) or musical comedy (Emilie Jolie), jazz with original creations (Grieg in Blue, Ethno Monk), Spanish works such as La Noche Oscura(Grand Prix from the Charles Cros Academy), Llanto and Pelleas y Melisanda, rap with Abd Al Malik or ethnic pop with Diego Modena (Ocarina), Franck plays, arranges, orchestrates and conducts. He won with Sylvain Chomet the best film music award at the Beijing festival for the film Attila Marcel.

Rosa Ines Villegas is a Franco-Colombian singer, author and composer. Her artistic career is eclectic: cabarets on the Champs Élysées and Tokyo (Pau Caraïbes), theater companies (La Llave, Mictlan), jazz clubs and Parisian stages (New Morning, Duc des lombards), international tours with different collaborations and with her own projects (Vibración del Alma, Quarteto Rosa, Trova Nova, Luis&Rosa). Her music is tinged with folklore of her Latin American roots, jazz and pop music that surrounds her, and sometimes electro that she likes to explore.

Show “La Danza del Caos”

We are currently immersed in the writing of a show which had its first creative residency at the end of September at the Théâtre de Longjumeau (91). Wanting to poetically and rhythmically enrich the historical framework induced by the selected pieces, we will co-create with two talented dancers:

Karine Gonzales, flamenco dancer and Sufi, revealed in the film “Vengo” by Gatlif.

Tap dancer Aurélien Lehmann, recently applauded at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris in a duet with pianist François-René Duchâble.

For the sound, we called on Nicolas Jobet (tenor Roberto Alagna’s last tours).

We are actively looking for a next residency in 2025 to include in the visual creation, the scenographer Philippe Riot (awarded in Cannes in 2015 for the “event trophies”).
